~ Question ~

Do any of you have one of the Cuisinart ice cream/sorbet makers?  Most of the reviews seem positive and better than using the Kitchen Aid attachment to the mixer.  I think it would be refreshing to have sorbets right now in this heat!  Lots of fresh fruits to try anyway.

Thanks in advance!
Pat

I do have one, but we don't use it nearly enough. After reading all the ice cream posts, I'm going to get it out this weekend. I've been happy with the things I've done...it won't feed a big crowd, but it is so easy. I don't have the mixer (or attachment) so can't compare the two.

I have one that you put in the freezer prior to mixing your ice cream. I freeze yogurt with stevia and a little fruit and it is delicious and so easy.

I've been thinking about you! How's your vision? Hope all is well by now.

Hi Pat, I wanted to stop by and thank you for your lovely comment on my blog post about the appetizer menu from last week's bbq here at Frog Hollow Farm! I love the photo on the title of your blog, and you sound like such a fun lady!! Congrats on your retirement from the airlines, I've recently retired myself and started my blog shortly afterwards - and I just love meeting other bloggers on line and seeing what it seems like thousands of new ideas every week! Hi Pat, I've had a Cuisinart ice cream maker for a few years. It's the type that has the bowl with the gel in it that you put in the freezer. It's so-o-o-o easy! I've made lemon sorbet a number of times. I don't know if you "went" to the Ice Cream Social at Kitchen Bouquet last wknd (http://kitchenbouquet.blogspot.com) - but I did, and I was inspired. I made the sour cream ice cream from her Ice Cream Social last year recipe is here: http://browniesfordinner.com/2009/07/09/sour-cream-ice-cream/ Pat, I put fresh strawberries on it and this ice cream is outstanding! Anyway, back to your question, I have had other ice cream makers in the past but the Cuisinart model I have is far easier to use. Happy ice cream making!

I purchased one a month or so ago and was told it made the BEST ice cream, ever. If you visit my blog (under kitchen) you'll see the post. Or you can click here: http://www.thearmymom.com/2010/06/ice-cream.html

Good luck!
