~ Wednesday Gratitude ~

It's time once again to link up with Heidi at Heart and Home and count our blessings! I think each day how grateful I am to wake up and have another chance at getting it right. ;-) Seriously, we really need to grab the gusto, so to speak, and live each day fully and gratefully. I've really been working on this! When I look at more boxes, I think "how fortunate I am to have these things", "how lucky I am to live alone, have my privacy, be in a safe environment with good people around me" ~ you get the picture! I am trying to focus on all the good stuff rather than spending time being frustrated, depressed and overwhelmed. I've stopped the clock as far as "having" to get things done ~ they WILL get done. I had a wonderful weekend and have allowed myself precious time to do as I please. I'm still working on things but not every minute, not every day, not pushing at all. I'm enjoying the gorgeous weather we're having ~ minus the wind some days. When the Texas heat hits, I will be inside more and I can organize till I can't then! :-) I think this picture conveys what I'm working on ~

~ Random Dozen ~

I haven't linked up with Linda at 2nd Cup of Coffee for randoms in awhile...I keep forgetting!   Here are my answers for this week:

1. Have you ever been so lost that you were really afraid?
Yes

2. Have you ever been to an island?
Yes

3. Are you more of a thinker or feeler?
Feeler....then thinker

4. Do you tend to see issues or situations in life as black and white or shades of gray?
Shades of gray, definitely!

5. If you were stuck on an island, what book would you hope to have with you (Let's pretend the Bible is already there, so you can't say that.)
"A Return to Love" by Marianne Williamson

6. What are you most afraid of?
Dementia, strokes, losing my cognitive ability

7. Would you rather lose all of your old memories or never be able to make new ones?
I would never want to lose memories of my kids, my family & friends so guess it would be the ability to make new ones.

8. Pretend I'm looking at a scrapbook page about you. There are three spaces for you to drop in individual pictures. What are those pictures of, and why did you select them?
A baby picture ~ such happiness & innocence.
High school pic ~ football sweetheart, cheerleader, lots of fun times!
Me & my kids ~  just love!

9. If you were re-doing your wedding, what would you do differently? (If you're single, tell me one thing you would do if you were planning a wedding OR huge party.)
Well, if I re-did my weddings, there prolly wouldn't be the ones I had. HAVE to have my kids though!  I'd plan a huge party with tons of flowers, great music and champagne.  More than 1 thing there ~ ;-)

10. Tell me one thing you know/believe about forgiveness.
If we don't forgive, it only hurts us.

11. You're waiting in a doctor's office. What is your favorite way to pass that time?
Breathe deeply & often, read a great book.

12. If there were a clone of you in a parallel universe what is one way you hope she/he would be the same as you and one way you hope she/he would be better?
I would want her to have a great sense of humor as I do.  I would want her to realize her worth wayyyyyyyyy earlier than I did.

~ Getting To Know You ~

I am linking up with Keely at Mannland5 today with a getting to know you quiz.
The questions...

1. If you could star in any movie genre..what would it be..romance..horror..comedy..suspense or action?
Romance

2. Do you recycle?
Sadly, no.  :-(   Just moved and, for some weird reason, there are no recycling areas here. I'm working on it though!

3. Have you ever been to a strip club?
Yes!  Can you believe it?  It was a male strip club in Miami....a long time ago.

4. Do you have a nickname?
Well, my real name is Patricia but I go by Pat, Tricia or Trish.

5. What's a name you can't stand to be called?
Patty or Patsy   :-(

6. What are your Summer staples?
Cute sandals!

7. What was the last thing you bought for yourself?
Yesterday I bought a rockin' red & black lounge chair for my patio and thinking of getting a 2nd one.  Wanted to try this one out first.  I also bought a gorgeous pot of red geraniums and a couple of books at B&N.  The unpacking may have come to a halt!  ;-)

8. Are you happy with your boob size?
Actually, I never have been.  However, as I am more "mature" now, I accept me in all forms. I am very grateful that they are healthy!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

~ In a Funk ~

And I really don't have a clear reason why.  I seem to always need a "reason" if I'm not feeling 100% but friends say that the reason may not be clear for awhile, perhaps not at all.  I hope I get my mojo back soon!  Miss you and hope that each of you have a wonder*filled weekend!

~ Wednesday Gratitude ~

Another Wednesday and another opportunity to link up with Heidi at Heart and Home and share our blessings.

I really don't find anything difficult about expressing gratitude or appreciating everything I have, my family, wonderful friends, a safe place to live and fresh food & water.  I am just so exhausted that I'm not sure I can put together an intelligent post. :-)  So sorry to continue to say that but it's true.  I think I reached my breaking point yesterday ~ just tired of all the boxes and "stuff" everywhere.  It's going on 2 months of packing and unpacking and I'm just ready for my little world to be all put together again.  I realize I am so very fortunate...I really am!  I wish for fairies or angels to come in and finish this, clean and serve me tea.  They haven't shown up yet!  ;-)

Just  sharing a quote about "Happiness".  It's all around us ~ we just need to recognize it. I am focusing on the good stuff and working to eliminate my whining.

~ Taking the Day Off ~

This is what I need!  Alas, not to be today though. I'm inundated with allergies and overwhelmed with unpacking & decorating so I decided to take the day off.  Do you ever do this?  I really think it's good for the body and soul.  I'm making some iced tea, have fresh limes to add and I'm going to rest a bit and then hopefully I'll have my second wind and will get some things accomplished.

I'll be more than happy to write you a permission slip for a day off if you need it. ;-)  We just need that 'permission' sometimes to encourage us, right?

~ Do you know? ~

Where I can find a mirror like this?  ;-)  I saw this picture and immediately felt that I should be in search of one of these mirrors.  It's spring and time for a change in wardrobe, however, I'm not sure my body is going to fit in anything that doesn't stretch.  Gotta get back to my walking!

Hope you're having a fabulous Friday!

~ The Way I Feel Today ~

I do believe that moving ~ packing, sorting, unpacking, etc. ~ would be considered hard work. ;-)
Yes, it's getting better, however, I am tired of the process.  Hanging in there though!  Just thought I'd say "hello" today and let you know what I'm doing.  I did decorate my patio with white star lights this morning. Now I'm anxious to see how they look tonight when it's dark. Hope everyone is having a beauty filled day!

~ A little late but..... ~

I'm still unpacking those boxes!  ;-)  Wanted to link up with Talk-about-it-Tuesday even though I am late.  Sorry 'bout that.  I just know I'm going to get back on a blogging schedule soon.

~ 29 Gifts ~

If you haven't heard or read about the 29 Gifts phenomenon, take a look at Cami's site.  The book is awesome too!

I started my 29 Gifts exercise on April 1st.  I know in my heart that giving is a HUGE blessing for me. It doesn't have to cost a thing...there are jillions of ways to show someone kindness and love. I've always been a big RAOK person so this fits right in!  I know from past experience that focusing on others changes your outlook and increases abundance in one's life.  And abundance comes in many forms ~ not necessarily in financial ways.  :-)

Wanna be one of my 29?  You are welcome to email me with your snail address.  Remember, it's not about the size, cost, value, etc.  :-)   Wanna join in?  Go to Cami's site and join. That would be awesome!

I hope that each of you have a Happy & Blessed Easter!  We are so fortunate to have this time to honor our Lord for what He did for all of us.

Love & brightest blessings,
Pat
