~ Ramblings ~

~ I hope that everyone is having a safe, fun & happy Labor Day!  It was in the high 60's this morning and forecast for this afternoon is low 80's. I wish you could see how happy and excited I am!!  I'm jumping up and down ~ yeah, right.  :-)  Seriously, this is like a piece of Heaven after 68 days of triple digits.  We almost tied or broke the record of 1980 for 69 days of triple digits. Knowing Texas, I'm sure the heat will rise again but at least we've had this wonderful break!

~ Have you ever lost a sewing machine?  Or a large, framed print....poster size?  I have torn this place apart looking for both!  In case some of you are wondering if I've completely lost my mind, I moved twice last year...last time in late Nov.  It was unexpected and very fast. Anyway, I had some special items stored in one closet and I honestly thought the sewing machine was in there. I had it boxed up nicely. The print?  I thought it was in the back of that closet too.  I had placed 2 large mirrors there but have moved them since.  Anyway, I cannot imagine what happened. They are not in my storage closet either. My family and I have used the movers several times and they are very reputable....I know everything was out of the former place...just cannot figure this out. I'm in the mood to sew with no machine and no answers.
~ What type of smart phone do you have?  I'm thinking of changing and I'm really not sure which one to choose. Any suggestions are most appreciated!

~ Please pray for everyone in Texas that has been or might be affected by the raging fires. So many homes have been lost and the firefighters are exhausted.  One of cousins lives in Austin and had to evacuate their home yesterday.  So many in harm's way ~

Pat, I moved 3 1/2 years ago, with plenty of time to pack, and that I did carefully, or so I thought. I really didn't have all that many boxes as I downsized and got rid of so much stuff. I am missing things from my kitchen/dining room, and I don't think these items would have been given away or brought to the thrift store, but who knows? I am missing some beautiful old tea cups....I have to dig deep in my tiny closet under the stairs, I think I may have one box left to unpack, or it may just be a box of leftover tile from my bathroom remodel. xo,

Pat, I just read your bio and I think we may be sibling separated at birth! Loving your blog and following you back.

Oh my gosh Pat! I hate when that happens. Of course the reason I can't find things sometimes is because I have a senior moment, nothing to do with movers! I have a Droid Milestone and wish I'd just bit the bullit and got an iphone! The Droid is a good fun, but mine is too heavy! One more year on this contract and I'm bailing!

Been looking for stuff all day here Pat. Drives me nuts. I do not have a fancy phone, so I can't help you there. The new fad is the Ipad..way out of my budget though, but they are suppose to be awesome and great for traveling too.

Pat, Daughter and hubby lost fieastaware dinner plates moving her home from her apt. They both claim the dishes were packed and moved but they are no where to be found. I love my iphone!!! And the Apple store workers are very helpful if yo have problems. Laura from Cottage and Broome.

Thank the Lord for cooler temps! So happy you have a little break in those triple digits. Still 100 degrees here :/

I have a BlackBerry smartphone and I love it! I can do all my e-mails, check social sites, Blogger, and other things that I do everyday. I'm not one for a million silly "apps". BlackBerry caters to business type folks and less of the game filled phones for teens. My husband has a touch screen Android and I dislike it. He has a thousand silly apps on his and the touch screen is a pain!

I have quite a few friends in Texas and everyone there is in my Prayers. I'm Praying for rain for you all and for these fires to subside. It's so scary. Stay safe! On Friday a wildfire broke out very, very close to us with mandatory evacuations, they are still fighting hard to put it out. A lot are in danger here :(

Hoping you are having a nice Labor Day Pat! XoXo

I can never find anything anymore, I love my iPhone and my iPad. Both are so versatile and easy to use.

My cousin and her family have evacuated their home in Bastrop, also. Thanks to kind people who helped her while her husband was trailering the horses, they were able to get out. The kindness of strangers is sometimes so amazing!
Praying for rain and the firefighters who are risking their lives for the families and homes at risk.

I am glad you are getting a break form the hEAT!!! But, I pray for those in harms way with the firs, so sad. We are getting RAIN, rain and more rain from Lee. We are already saturated, it is so ironic that Tx. is so DRY and we are SOAKED!!! Can't help with the phone issue, I have a regular cell phone and only use it for calls. Have texted twice in my life;):) XO, Pinky

It's so frustrating when you can't find things, isn't it? I still haven't found all of my stuff from the move(S). We moved 3 times in the last year so who knows. I hope you can find what you are looking for. I'm happy to hear that you are getting some relief from the heat. It's about time. Now if I could just send you some of this rain, we would all be good. Until then, I will keep praying for rain in Texas. Have a great Wednesday, my friend!

I hope you found your sewing machine.

The wildfires seem quite scary. So many homes have been in it's path. I wish there was more they could do.

I am praying for them.

With the ranch and the city house, I find myself tearing one place apart looking for something that is at the other place. I have misplaced an adorable floral frog I can't find. It's not where I thought it was. And two things we lost I bought new only to find the lost items a few days later. But I don't usually lose my sewing m/c, LOL!! As for the phone, I have an Android and and ipod touch (iphone without the phone part) so I am farily familiar with both. Either would be awesome. And now that Netflix is on Android, the only reason to get an iphone for me is that my library's downloadable audiobooks won't work on my Android. Otherwise, they are both fabulous. I love, love having a smart phone. They are great for travel and especially to check email/internet/blogger when you are away from your computer.
