~ Just FYI ~

There were probably many, many times last year when I

Disturbed You,
Troubled You,
Pestered You,
Irritated You,
Bugged You,
Or got on your Nerves!

So today, I just wanted to tell you:

Suck it up, Cupcake!
Cause there
AIN'T
 NO CHANGES
Planned for 2012
Wishing you a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous
New Year

I have no idea how a lot of you are already into projects, photography, etc., already!  I'm doing well to just make it through each day. ;-)

I mentioned earlier in December that all the cabinets here, kitchen and both bathrooms, were painted white. Well, yes ~ 3 times a painter was here!  I think they finally got it right. However, the maintenance guys here still have to come and install all new hinges. I've had a lot going on personally so haven't had the energy to have them come yet...but I need to get it done.  Due to having to move EVERYTHING out of all the cabinets and all the decor too, I damaged my knees. Yuck!  Found out last year when I moved that I have arthritis in both knees and I felt that was the problem. Just continued to have severe pain and also in my legs...some days I've been close to tears and barely able to walk. Saw an orthopedic Dr last week and he is wonderful!  X-rays revealed that yes, there is arthritis...in fact, it's bone on bone. However, my knee caps are out of place and that's the source of all the pain. I'm now going to physical therapy 3x a week as well as doing exercises/stretching at home, icing them 4x a day and taking heavy duty Tylenol. It is better at the moment so I'm hoping this does the trick!  Such a waste of time as well as unpleasantly painful. I feel silly even mentioning this as there are so many more important issues, including this one:

A dear friend's daughter was critically injured in a motorcycle accident NYE. She's a beautiful young lady and in the Neuro Critical Care Unit at a Dallas hospital with a traumatic brain injury. She's on a ventilator but one lung collapsed Monday night and antibiotics are given for the lung infection. She survived one surgery and an MRI last evening shows damage to the frontal lobes and an indication of a stroke. She has responded to Dr's commands but has not opened her eyes yet.  One thing that makes this situation even more horrid is that her sister, Melanie, was murdered near UNT a couple of years ago. You may have seen it on TV and Paula Zahn covered it too and interviewed the parents. One wonders just how much a family can take... God has the Master Plan and we don't so therefore, it is difficult to understand these things, at least for me.

If you would be so kind to pray for Candace and her parents, it would be so appreciated!

I'm so sorry about your knees...it sounds so painful. Hopefully the PT will help. This is not a good way to start out the New Year.

Sending many prayers up for Candace and her family. This is so terribly sad.

Take care, my friend.

Jane

You have been having a hard time of it. I pray all this will 'come to pass' and not to STAY!

It sounds like the first week of 12 is not being kind to you my friend.. I'm so sorry for your friends daughter... how scarey for her family. I'm sending all the good vibes I can for her recovery.
As for your poor knees, I pray they get better because it's no fun to be in pain.
Hang in there and keep the faith for everything go's as fast as it comes.

Well, first and foremost, I am praying for Candace and the whole family. You do wonder sometimes why God allows such trauma to happen to one family and another to go relatively unscathed. I guess there is no answer to that this side of Heaven.

I am so sorry to hear about your knees. I have some severe inflammatory issues that come and go so know the depth of pain you are in...the days when you feel hopelessly incapcitated because of pain. You just kind of pray your way through those days hoping for a better one tomorrow.

God bless you, Pat! I'm glad that you AREN'T going to be changing things in 2012 cuz I kinda like you just the way you are! xo Diana

I am praying for Candace and her family. What a terrible tragedy.

I sure hope your knees improve. Your job as a flight attendant probably contributed to this since you were on your feet a lot, right? My mom had two artificial knees put in about 8 years ago, and she still has trouble with them. I guess that docs can't fix everything as good as new!

Dear Pat...I am going to put candace and you in my prayer journal. Life can be so painful and hard to understand. We may never know why things happen but we do know Gods mercies are new every morning and that He is faithful. Love to You!

I will be praying. So sorry to hear about your knees. I have started acupunture treatments to help with inflamation issues and migraines and it has been a God send. If the traditional western medicine doesn't help you, it might be an avenue to explore. I had tried everything and was at the end of my rope.
Hugs,
Lisa

Hi Pat...I am so sorry to hear you suffer like that. I know my Mom does too, and she says it feels like a toothache in her knees. My thoughts and prayers are with your friend and family, that is horrid what happened to her and then in the past with her sister.

Hi, Pat. I know what you mean about it seeming like a waste of time. I absolutel HATE to ice anything. Hope your knees feel better soon. So sorry about your friend's daughter. I pray for her family and her quick recovery.

Oh my-I will certainly say prayers for Candace and her family. I don't know how families get through such terrible things.

So sorry to hear about the knees. My mom suffered for years with hers and wouldn't have surgery. She also was bone on bone and had fairly frequent injections to put some "cushion" between the bones. I hope you can fix your issues with the PT.

I'm not doing any house projects either. I'm cleaning out things, getting tax stuff ready and so on.

I will pray for Candace, and you. It is not easy to live with pain every day. It wears you down.
Have a good weekend.

I am so sorry to hear about your knees and your friends! I am so sad. I have been through having someone murdered and it's not easy and now with this accident, I don't know how they will endure the pain. I am praying that things will improve for them and that you will too. I am missing your post and hope all is ok. Please let me know if there is anything I can do???
