~ Texas Tornadoes ~

The 3 photos above are from local TV stations.  This is just a sampling of the damage done this afternoon around Arlington, Lancaster, Forney and the path in between. Soooo much loss and damage!  Can you imagine coming home and finding that you had no home left?  Some could  not get into their communities due to downed power lines.  Police have barricaded many areas and 40,000 + are without power.  People are looking for their pets ~ just heartbreaking!  So far, no fatalities reported and that is a true miracle!  I think there were 12 tornadoes dancing around ~ lots of hail and wind damage too.

This is my daughter's car ~

Can't see the back of it in these photos.

Her friend's car ~

And another employee's car ~

All the employee's cars were similarly damaged. They were all safe and all banded together to make sure each person had a way home, etc.  "Things" can be replaced...people cannot.

Oh and I almost forgot!  This is a photo from a TV station that shows 18 wheelers being tossed in the air like potato chips.  Can you imagine the strength of the storm to toss around 2 ton vehicles?

One of the 12 ~

We're all counting our blessings tonight!  Just had high winds, hail and lots of rain here. The sirens kept going off so Forrester and I stayed in the closet.  :-)

Later, this was in order ~

So glad you are safe, Pat. I had no idea that Dallas had this going on. Had the tv off all day. I can't believe the photo of the trucks in the air! Really terrifying.
Enjoy that margarita- you earned it!

PAT- I immediately thought about you when I saw this news. It's a miracle that no one was killed. That is a blessing in itself. SOOO sad...and extra sad about the pets who have no idea what to do when this happens. xo Diana

WOW! We all have relatives near the storms and there were some real anxious hours. My aunt had softball size hail. Last Thursday the Rio Grande Valley (deep south Texas) was hit by huge storms with massive hail, wind and flooding. We were in Mexico at that time and had to wait until we got home to see what our damage was ... which thank God was very little, except for an outbuilding that we have. Bad! While we were in Mexico City we felt an earthquake while in the airport. Lots of "earthly" happenings going on...

Pat, thank God you are all right and so is your daughter. Such devastation. I guess Mother Nature is still angry for some reason. It is very sad and I feel bad for the pets, too, they are helpless, their owners must be so upset. Take good care, and I'll be saying some prayers xo

Pat, was good to get this post from you, to know your doing well.. I saw the video of the tankers flying and it's so sad, scarey and amazing to say the least! I lived in central Illinois for 9 years and remember going down to the basement on many occasions when the F-3's and 4's came flying over head...I think I'd rather have hurricanes,, here in Fl we get days notice when they are coming, time to run!
prayers go out to all involved.

Oh my goodness...I didn't even realize how close you were to all the storms. I happened to have CNN on yesterday as they were hitting and the weather guy seemed to be stunned at what was happening. The images of the semi floating through the air has been haunting!

I am so glad you and yours are okay. I do think it is amazing that their were no fatalities.

This is awful, Pat, but I am so very glad that you are ok. I cannot imagine going home to this, and I certainly cannot imagine not being able to find my pets. That would be like losing family to me! Stay safe, I am afraid we have another month or so to look forward to with this season.

I don't understand Mother nature having such a heavy hand.
I saw trucks flying in the air on the news. Take care of yourselves. I am your newest follower....That margarita is well deserved....

WOW these pics are amazing. I worried so much while this was happening. I prayed for everyone and could not believe this was going on with us having sunshine. My nieces were on the phone with their mom and dad scared to death.
The pic of the 18 wheeler is a real eye opener as to why we fear tornado's.
You sure have a lot of them in your area. When my son lived there I could not wait for him to move back to Austin. lol
My heart breaks for all the ones that have no home.
Sorry about your daughters car...thank goodness it was just her car and she is safe.
Love
Maggie

So, so scary. I am happy that you are okay! We are coming up on the one year anniversary of the April 27th tornado that devastated Tuscaloosa and other areas in Alabama. It seems that the storms are getting stronger and more frequent! My heart goes out to those affected by the storms in the Dallas area.
