~ Word Verification and No Reply Bloggers ~

I've found several new blogs that are just outstanding, however, they have the dreaded word verification turned on.  Not sure if they are "no reply" bloggers, however, I discovered that Sue over at Sullivan and Murphy has published one of the best tutorials to change these functions.  If you are new and wondering why you don't have many comments, take a look!

Everyone will love you for it ~ :)

Great idea to share, Pat! I had no idea about this when I first started blogging, until someone pointed it out to me. xo

Good morning Pat...it was so wonderful hearing from you. :)
I hope you are doing good. You are such a faithful reader...and sweet bloggy friend. I took the comments off my blog due to major issues in the comment section, most anonymous. Anyhoo, email seems to take care of that. :)
Thank you for your kind words and for stopping by. Happy Sunday, love!

Pat, I think some of the older bloggers have been having trouble with SPAM. I noticed this the other day when I was trying to do some visiting. Several people said they were getting lots of unwanted SPAM. One blog had tons and TONS of it. I even got some, but immediately deleted it.

I think I did this when I first blogged because I didn't know what I was doing either. This is good advice. Comment Moderation is really all you need to control unwanted comments. But it does mean that you have to go in and check to publish people's comments.

XO,

Sheila

Hmm, I didn't realize I had control of these things. Thanks for alerting us.

Oh, I am so with you! And that new word verification is even worse! Drat - it's not like we get that many crazy comments.

I understand what you are saying.

I turned mine off for a while after reading after someone who hated having to verify.

I got tons of strange comments, so I put it back on again.

Thanks for the reminder, though.
