~ Just a few things ~

I guess you notice the new blog design. I have had such a horrible year and feel like starting out the new year with a clean slate, so to speak.  I think a simple and uncluttered design will help me in this endeavor. If you are interested in a new blog design, please check with Rebekah at
Rebekah Louise Designs. She's awesome to work with and so very patient!

For the first time in a long time, I've had several things to share with you, however, I still don't have my computer repaired and no access to photos.  Not fun!

I'm sure if you don't live in Texas, you at least heard about our ice-apocalypse. What a trying situation. I've lived in this state all my life and have never seen ice remain on the ground for 9 or more days.  There are still some remnants on a few houses and streets where the sun is rare.

My daughter and I had a wonder*filled Thanksgiving!  I'm sure you've heard of Jo Pearson ~ she's the Creative Director for Michael's. She and my daughter have worked together for years. She made the most incredible Thanksgiving meal that you can imagine!  I took the  Pumpkin Trifle shared here earlier and a chocolate pie. Changed from the usual pumpkin & pecan too. We wore our PJ's and made Christmas ornaments in the afternoon. Such a wonderful day and a incredibly relaxing!

I celebrated another birthday Dec 1st and had a great outing with my daughter!  We ran around, shopped and then ate at my favorite restaurant, Pappadeaux's!  We sorta did the same thing on Sunday....out and about in the sunshine.  We went to Dallas and did some looking, wishing and shopping at Anthro, Urban Outfitters, West Elm, Francesca's....you name it!  Had lunch at Patrizio's ~ another favorite.  Their Bellini's rock!

I am focusing on honoring Abby this Christmas and performing RAOK's and paying it forward. If you'd like to join in, you can become one of "Abby's Angels" ~ making life better for others. The simplest act can mean the world to someone else.

Not sure when I will update again...just know I try to visit you when I can!  I really thought Santa would come through by now with a "magic" computer fix. :)

xo
Pat

Your Thanksgiving day sounds like such a delightful departure from the standard fare...and the day spent crafting....almost as good as a long weekend at the Broadmoor. I have a dear friend who retired a couple of years ago from American Airlines, after flying with them from the time we graduated from college. She too, has a passion for travel. Oh the stories you all could tell! Thanks for inviting us for a "peek" at your holiday. Cherry Kay

Your blog looks fantastic! I don't blame you at all for wanting a new start. You have a great attitude though and I feel sure that 2014 will be a much better year. :)

Love your new blog design! Happy belated birthday too. :) We were a little too far south to get in on the ice storm, thank goodness! I really do think 2014 holds wonderful things for you. :) I just heard a quote on tv today that said "When things get tough, just remember that joy is just around the corner." I love that. :)

Love the new design! Looks great! And your Thanksgiving sounds like so much fun.

I had no idea y'all were iced in... I have been crazy busy and not listening to the news. I have family in Texas, but they didn't say anything. I will have to check.

Praying that we all have a better 2014! This has been a tough year for many of us, but I am thankful to be able to lean on the everlasting arm.

Merry Christmas Pat. The new blog look is nice, but even nicer is hearing a bit of spark coming through with this post.
